Qigong, Farm Stand and Community Meeting

Dominique offers a free 30 min. session of Qigong every Monday at 7:30am

Our FARM STAND will open Monday July 2nd,  7:00-11:00am.  We'll have chard, kale, romaine lettuce and apricots

Our monthly COMMUNITY METING/Potluck Dinner is Monday July 2nd, 6:00-7:30pm.  Come help create the next steps of the farm

John and Dominique planting perennial flowers.  Richard in the back, spraying Diatomaceous earth
on plants to fend off flea beettles

The waffle garden has been planted with a variety of summer and winter squash, corn and pole beans.

The first squash (Baby Blue Hubbard) sprouting

The first corn seedling...

Larry, Nick, Ricky and Richard finished sheet-mulching the last 2 fields

The last of the chard and chile peppers leaving the greenhouse,

which is now empty.

A new garden has been created in the area above the hoophouses

The waffle garden was expanded by Dominique and Galen, and is now comprised of 80 holes  (120 squash, 160 corn and 160 beans)

The last of our tomatoes being transplanted (by Dutton and Cameron) in one gallon pots to sell at our farm stand or give as gifts

Our new vegetable washing station

Peewee, the baby finch, rescued and fed by Dominique for two days before returning to finch heaven

The Heart and Soul potluck dinner at the farm last night

The garden looks beautiful and the dryness has been fostering a lot of insect activity....  Flea beetles and another type of fruit fly-type have been chomping on radish and mustard greens, as well as cauliflower.

After staying with us for 5 weeks, wwoofer Ariel is returning to Maine.  Thank you Ariel for all the hard work!  A new wwoofer (Dutton) has arrived and our friend Kat will be camping at the farm this summer to learn about gardening.

A group of young folks, formerly students at Monte del Sol School, have been voluntering at the farm and are writing an article about Gaia Gardens for the Generation Next section of the New Mexican newspaper.
