Upcoming Workshops

The garden is relishing the long-awaited monsoon rains

Things are flowing quite smoothly at the farm.  Plants and tenants are getting their fair share of water and our well capacity is for now sufficient.  The farm stand turns out to be a wonderful way to meet our neighbors and generate new ideas.  One of our customers is an accupuncturist and herbalist, and will be offering a salve/tincture-making workshop in August. Two new wwoofers are arriving in July, just in time to help with harvest and participate in the building of water-harvesting swales throughout the property.  Our kid-centered Wednesday afternoon is building momentum.  The kids will soon be creating their own garden.  Two gatherings took place at the farm recently.  The Heart and Soul group had a meeting and potluck dinner, and we hosted a 4th of July potluck lunch.  Our outdoor kitchen area turns out to be a great place to have such gatherings.  It will soon be equipped with a traditional earth oven.

Several workshops are being scheduled for August
  • August 4 and 18 Horno building (traditional wood-fired bread (and pizza!) oven with Paul Navrot   On donation
  • August 4 and 18    Medicinal salves and tinctures with Kelly Frith    Sliding scale  $15-30 for both weekends
  • Date TBD   Water harvesting with permaculture designer Tom Watson

Please keep an eye on our CALENDAR for workshop dates and times
